At KERIONICS, we develop, manufacture and commercialize key components for high-temperature electrolyzers, focusing on SOEL (Solid Oxide Electrolysis) — the most efficient technology for green hydrogen production.
We are a spin-off of the Institute of Chemical Technology (ITQ) at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), leveraging over a decade of research in advanced ceramic materials to help decarbonize industries.
KERIONICS' innovative technology offers significantly higher energy efficiency compared to existing solutions, making it an ideal fit for industrial integration. Our expertise is aimed at serving energy-intensive process industries, driving decarbonization where replacing fossil fuels is still a major challenge. Additionally, we help reduce the production costs of oxygen and hydrogen, enhancing the competitiveness of our clients.
KERIONICS is developing high temperature electrolyzers and fuel cells stacks (SOEC-SOFC) for green hydrogen production and similar applications and to face this challenge, they are looking for a Balance of Plant (BOP) development scientist.
About the Role
KERIONICS is offering an exciting new position for an ambitious scientist eager to join a fast-growing company. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with scientists and engineers in the New Product Introduction process and play a key role in developing innovative products for launch.
This role is ideal for someone with a flexible, hands-on approach and a broad skill set. The candidate will be responsible for developing BOP configuration for SOEC system, ensuring that the development project meets the requirements necessary to elevate KERIONICS to the next level.
The individual is expected to work towards building balance of plant theoretical model, that should constitute the solid base for the whole BOP development project. The candidate will take charge of balance of plant/system simulations, thus evaluating fluids consumes, hydrogen production, thermal and energy balance determining the most optimal configurations in order to maximise system efficiency and lower costs. On this regard, he/she will collaborate in the dimensioning/selection of the most appropriate solutions and layouts during system design process.
Moreover, the person is expected to take part in the collaboration with the component suppliers, especially by providing scientific expertise, but also validation activities with the rest of the Kerionics team.
